    Our firm is seeking an exceptionally bright, well-organized, and self-motivated individual to support our patent attorneys. We are able to support remote work in California, New York, Texas, and Washington.

    The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail and possesses great organization and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to complete complex tasks quickly. The ideal candidate will react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, and be eager to take on varied and exciting new projects and learn new skills. The candidate will also possess a high level of integrity and discretion in managing confidential information, and professionalism is critical. This remote-friendly role is available for full-time employment for the right candidate.

    Responsibilities

    · Provide secretarial and administrative assistance to attorneys as needed

    · Manage dockets for various attorneys, ensuring all deadlines are met

    · Prepare and file documents with the USPTO and International Bureau of WIPO in connection with domestic and foreign patent prosecution and maintenance, including but not limited to: application filings, office action responses, formal documents, information disclosure statements, petitions, issue fee payments, assignments and maintenance fees

    · Draft and coordinate signatures on formal documents, including inventor declarations, assignments and power of attorneys

    · Prepare correspondence, routine letters, memos and other prosecution documents

    · Oversee filing, prosecution and maintenance of international patent matters, including communicating directly with foreign agents

    · Correspond with clients, inventors, internal legal team, outside counsel, and foreign agents to coordinate on deadlines and instructions

    · Maintain record of annuity deadlines and coordinate payment

    · Maintain electronic files in Prolaw

    · Enter billing records, data, maintain databases, and keep records

    · Assist with projects as needed, including incoming and outgoing portfolio transfers, budget reports, and other special projects as needed

    · Proficiency with USPTO Patent Center and ePCT on-line filing procedures (preferred, but not required)

    · Proficiency with internet-based patent search databases (UPSTO PAIR) and other legal research tools

    Requirements

    · Associate’s degree and/or a certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program

    · 1-3 years of applicable substantive experience as a legal secretary or paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department
