Introduction
With headquarters in Tromsø, Norway, Kongsberg Satellite Services AS (KSAT) supplies ground station services for satellite space-to-ground communications. KSAT is the world’s largest supplier of telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C) and data acquisition services for non-geostationary satellites.
Founded in 1968, KSAT has grown to over 300 employees with an annual revenue of approximately $120M. About 50% of KSAT’s annual revenue comes from the US. The wholly owned subsidiary KSAT Inc. (aka. KSAT USA) office is located in the Denver, Colorado area and is rapidly growing in response to strong US Government and industry demand for commercial ground segment services.
Summary of Position
KSAT USA is seeking a technical project manager / civil engineer to support design, development, and construction of satellite ground stations (aka teleports).
This role will serve as lead for development and construction of new satellite ground station site infrastructure, including the deployment of new antenna systems to serve national security space and commercial space missions. The role includes oversight of ground station design, construction management, and development through operational readiness.
This position will report to Dan Adams, Head of KSAT USA with function reporting to Vegar Skildheim, Direct of KSAT’s Global Ground Station Network Infrastructure.
The role will be local to the Greater Denver region with flexible teleworking opportunities. Relocation assistance to the Greater Denver region is available for the right candidate.

Compensation
The base salary range is between $85K - $130K.

- Responsible for managing civil work and construction related to KSAT customer and internal projects in the USA and Americas
- Support and oversight for design and scoping of new projects.
- Maintain cost, schedule, and delivery of site development projects.
- Select and manage civil works contractors through life of projects ranging from $1M to $20M
- Responsible for site development documentation including build documents, acceptance test plans, progress reporting, and similar status updates.

Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum
- Demonstrated 5-years engineering experience with construction and civil works design
- Demonstrated 5-years technical project management experience of new build or redevelopment for commercial or industrial infrastructure
- Construction management and contractor management experience and demonstrated performance on projects exceeding $3M.
- Preferred
- Experience developing satellite ground systems or teleports including greenfield developments in remote or challenging locations
- Knowledge of the satellite antenna system supply chain
- Telecom construction and infrastructure development and management
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline: BSEE / ME preferred.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering / business or relevant discipline
Travel
- Travel is estimated at 25-50%
- Travel will be necessary to customer sites in the United States
- Travel will be necessary to Tromsø, Norway several times (1 – 2 minimum) per year
- Travel to other global locations may be required on a case-by-case basis
