  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Gathering information. Shoot, write and edit newsworthy events including breaking/spot news, general news and feature stories relevant.
    • Collaborate with line producers, reporters and anchors to gather elements and assist in the production of news stories and interview segments.
    • Collaborate with the Assignment Desk, Producers and Reporters to research news segments and place on appropriate platform.
    • Use desktop editing systems to edit video including breaking news.
    • Create digital video news products of day-of news stories using a variety of sources for multiplatform distribution – Website, App, Social Media, OTT and linear.
    • Generate story ideas, research, and set up the content and interviews
    • Support Reporters, Anchors and Photojournalists with content needs.
    • Search wires and other partner sources for stories

    Qualifications

    • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
    • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
    • Must be bilingual in Spanish (written and verbal).
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
    • Need to be able to work on-site in El Paso,TX

    Desired Qualifications

    • Previous internship experience or on-campus involvement
    • Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment, often under tight deadline pressures
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Diligence and strong organizational skills
    • Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs
    • Excellent computer skills (especially search skills)
