    Kaizen Health leads a transportation program in the Chicago area which strives to improve student achievement by providing safe, timely, and cost-effective transportation to all eligible students.

    JOB OVERVIEW

    Kaizen Health is seeking an energetic, motivated team player to support a major education client as a VEHICLE AIDE. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional personal responsibility, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to Kaizen Health’s mission and core values. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Assist and accompany students to and from school
    • Fasten and secure seatbelts, harnesses, child safety seats, and other safety equipment
    • Maintain order on the vehicle to minimize driver distraction and create a safe environment
    • Ensure students are met by the appropriate parent/guardian or monitor that student is able to be released without a guardian present
    • Proactively report any incident, event, injury, and/or misbehavior that may jeopardize the safe transport of a student to appropriate personnel
    • Complete routing checks and related transportation forms
    • Follow all procedures, guidelines, and policies

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Able to transport one’s self to/from students’ homes and/or schools via public transport or personal vehicle
    • Able to work independently while exercising good judgment and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Able to secure and operate vehicle safety equipment
    • Patient, people oriented with the ability to interact with various student populations from pre-K to grade 12, parents, guardians, and school administration  
    • Able to pass an enhanced background check
    • Fluent in English required
    • Fluent in Spanish a plus
    • Experience in education and/or transportation industry a plus 
    • General knowledge of disabilities listed within the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Frequent walking, stopping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
    • Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally
    • Works outside and inside with moderate exposure to extreme temperatures
    • May work around vehicles and machinery with moving parts

    HOURLY RATE: $20/hour  

    HOURS: available for AM transport, midday transport, and afterschool transport (approximately 6:30am-5:00pm)
