The primary purpose of the Billing Clerk position is to assist in the day-to-day accounting functions of the facility in compliance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to medication, medical equipment, health care and the home healthcare operations as may be directed by the Manager or Controller
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required for billing procedures
- Analyze and familiarize standard medical billing codes
- Checking patient insurance eligibility and benefits verification
- Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information
- Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing system
- Following up on claims within standard billing cycle time frame and Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in pending if necessary
- Identifying varies insurances company and checking payment for accuracy
- Researching and appealing denied claims
- Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting
- Ability to carry out multiple tasks and to prioritize projects and duties in an efficient manner.
- Ability to work independently, with others, and in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Conducts self in a professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft based computer applications such as Words, Excel, and Outlook.
- Speak English fluently; Mandarin or Cantonese a plus
- Experience with HHA Exchange platform a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
