    We are seeking a motivated and innovative lab technician to help implement, further develop, and operate Keliomics’ breakthrough 5D pharmacophenotyping and drug discovery platforms. In this role, the individual will partner with world-class physicians and scientists to complete pharmacophenotyping studies on primary human tumors and tissues. The successful candidate will be passionate about transforming cancer care, is comfortable working in small teams, is a strong communicator, and possesses excellent laboratory skills.

    A minimum of two years’ full time prior experience in cell culture, cell viability assays, DNA and RNA extraction, and experience with lab instrumentation, including an ability to troubleshoot issues and efficiently interface with technical subject matter experts towards rapid resolution of issues. Strong attention to detail and the integrity to report deviations or problems are a must.

    This role reports to Keliomics’ Senior Scientist and Scientists. Equity-based compensation will be granted in addition to salary.

    IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS AND YEARS, THE CANDIDATE WILL:

    • Learn, implement, test, and validate operational processes, laboratory protocols, and complex engineered system with the help of technical and scientific experts
    • Run complex experiments under the guidance of the company’s most senior experts
    • Maintain meticulous records to CLIA standards in an electronic lab notebook
    • Maintain laboratory equipment to CLIA standards
    • Participate in project planning, experimental design, data analysis, and other scientific activities

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A B.S. or higher in biology, biological sciences, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or equivalent
    • 2+ years of full-time laboratory experience in an academic or commercial laboratory setting, or combination thereof
    • Hands-on experience with processing and handling tissue samples and tissue culture
    • Passion for being in the laboratory to complete experiments
    • Strong sense of commitment, integrity, and handling challenges collaboratively
    • Thrives in a collaborative startup environment, where communication is key

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Experience with complex biological systems / devices, including troubleshooting of, and recovery from, complex technical issues with support from experts
    • Experience working on complex cell-based experiments, including 3D systems such as patient-derived organoids and patient-derived xenografts
