Description

The Kennel Attendant position attends to all areas of care for the dogs that are boarding and attending daycare; providing excellent customer service to clients in person; and maintaining and cleaning kennel areas, reception, lobby area, and the play yards. The Kennel Attendant will supervise dog play groups and manage and maintain dogs in a safe and humane way.

Areas of Responsibility

Assess behavior and manage play groups based on the dog's size, play style, behavior, and other relevant factors

Provide care, including feeding and medications, for dogs including those with special needs

Manage boarding schedule

Clean and maintain kennels

Clean and maintain lobby and reception area

Clean and maintain play yards

Requirements

Must be reliable and have dependable transportation

Must be able to work 30 - 40 hours per week (Full Time)

Must be able to work at least one weekend day

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Must be able to work outside in any type of weather

Must be able to clean up bodily fluids such as fecal matter, urine, and vomit

Must be able to manage groups of dogs including ability to break up dog fights and scuffles, if needed

Knowledge of dog behavior

Previous experience in animal/dog care

Preferred Experience

Provide medications, injections, and other requirements for special needs dogs

Knowledge of dog first aid and CPR

Previous dog training experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
