Our animal care facility is looking for an animal lover to join our kennel management team as a Kennel Technician. To qualify for this role, you must have a positive attitude and a genuine love for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and other animals at our facility. In this role, you do more than cleaning and disinfecting our kennels - you also learn animal care and behavior basics while assisting our team with feeding, grooming and walking tasks. Having previous experience in a pet care environment or kennel is a plus, but we will provide training to the right candidate. You also need to have the physical stamina to keep up with our more active dogs.

Kennel Technician Duties and Responsibilities

• Checking animals in and out for boarding. Responsible for labeling belongings, food and medications as well as ID collars
• Monitoring the health and comfort of the animals as well as recognizing emergency
• Documentation of all treatments and abnormal activity
• Walking dogs and picking up after them
• Provide animals with food and water according to our feeding schedule
• Cleaning and disinfecting the kennels and cages
• Changing bedding when soiled and replace with clean bedding
• Washing, drying and folding laundry
• General housekeeping of animal housing, food prep, laundry areas, lobby and grounds
• Administration of oral or topical medications as directed by veterinarians and vet techs including flea and tick medications
• Walking and playing with the animals
• Help with bathing and grooming tasks
• Other tasks needed to ensure the health, well being and safety of the animals
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Holidays may be required, paid at time and a half

The presentation of the animals and their kennels is your duty as a Kennel Technician. Maintaining inventory and proactively taking initiative to grow the operation is recognized and rewarded.
