Full job description
Shore clinical TMS is seeking a part-time or full-time experienced registered nurse for IV Ketamine infusion, Spravato, TMS and mental health clinical assistant. Be part of an exciting practice that is offering cutting edge treatments helping patients recapture their life.
Position Overview
The infusion nurse provides specialized infusion therapy to clients with mental health conditions by administering medications, monitoring client responses, and ensuring client safety during the infusion process. The infusion nurse must have expertise in IV insertion techniques, strong clinical skills, and compassionate client care. Therapeutic communication is critical to ensure patient connection and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and administer infusion therapies following established protocols and medication guidelines.
Assess and monitor clients before, during, and after infusion therapy or TMS treatment, observing for any adverse reactions or changes in client condition.
Educate and support clients and their families regarding the infusion process, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health record (EHR).
Monitor and maintain infusion equipment, including pumps, IV lines, and infusion sets, ensuring proper functioning and sterility.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for clients receiving infusion therapy, reporting concerns or changes in client condition.
Respond to and manage any emergencies or adverse events that may occur during infusions, following established protocols and emergency procedures.
Adhere to infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene, aseptic technique, and safe disposal of sharps and medical waste.
Stay updated with current research, best practices, and advancements in infusion therapy, participating in continuing education activities to maintain clinical competence.
Maintain a compassionate and supportive environment for clients, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support during infusion therapy.
Must comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Assist with other office duties as needed. Learn to perform TMS treatments.
Mental health case management, intakes, assisting high risk/elderly patients with treatment plan and follow up on issues.
Qualifications
Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NJ.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
BLS/ACLS certification required. ICU/ER experience preferred.
Good IV skills, Excellent assessment and critical-thinking skills to recognize and respond to potential complications during infusion therapy.
Strong therapeutic, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to self-start, work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
