Position Overview:
As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for both account management (25%) and business development (75%), focusing on onboarding new retail accounts and maintaining strong relationships with existing partners. This role involves substantial travel (25-30%) across the U.S. and Canada to support in-store promotions, conduct account reviews, and ensure that our retail partners are fully equipped to drive sales. You’ll play a vital role in achieving our sales targets and will be pivotal in developing strategies to enhance brand visibility and sales performance within retail channels.
The Ideal Candidate:
You have at least 3 years of experience in retail sales, with a preference for experience in the fitness or wellness sector. You’re adept at managing relationships with retail accounts, driving growth through business development, and maintaining accurate sales forecasts. You’re a proactive problem-solver, highly skilled in account management, and motivated to achieve ambitious sales targets. You excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, love working with people, and are ready to travel to support and grow our retail partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Development (25% AM, 75% BD):
Cultivate and manage relationships with retail partners, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth. Actively pursue new retail accounts and manage the onboarding process from start to finish.
Sales Forecasting & Strategic Planning:
Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for all retail accounts to align inventory and production with demand. Implement sales strategies to support new account acquisitions and drive sales growth within current accounts.
Retail Partner Engagement & Training:
Conduct in-store visits and training sessions for retail staff to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness. Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, and in-store promotions.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
Track and analyze sales data to identify trends, monitor competitor activities, and adjust sales strategies. Conduct quarterly business reviews with key accounts and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Budget & Expense Management:
Manage travel and promotional expenses, ensuring activities align with allocated budgets.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of sales experience, ideally in fitness and wellness or related sectors, with a proven track record in retail sales and account management. Experience managing and onboarding retail accounts is essential.
Sales Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proven ability to achieve sales targets and handle complex sales cycles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Google Suite; experience with CRM tools is a plus.
Travel Flexibility:
Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% across the U.S. and Canada to meet with retail partners and support business development initiatives.
