    Title: Kid’s Community Group Teacher FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hours: 4 hours per week. Rate: $25 - $25/hour

    Position Summary The Kid’s Community Group Teacher works under the Elementary Manager and Children’s Ministry Director to teach a group of our elementary students on Wednesday afternoons during Kid’s Community Group. Hours from 3:30-6:30 on Wednesdays, with 1 hour of at home prep time. (all lesson plans provided to you by Elementary Manager - this role does NOT require weekly lesson planning).

    Job Description Teaching ● Read through lesson plans well in advance and be prepared to teach upon arrival ● Teach lessons in ways that are gospel-centered and biblical ● Utilizes a variety of classroom management strategies in teaching ● Help set and clean up classrooms ● Effectively lead volunteers in a classroom setting to create a fun, safe and enriching learning environment. ● Participate in whole group instruction, possibly in the form of skits, games, etc.

    Professional Development ● Attend all training sessions per school year, including volunteer and anti-harassment training. (trainings typically happen on a Sunday, after service) ● Greet and build rapport with parents during dropoff and pick-up time ● Communicate with the Elementary Manager to help improve class time and lessons

    Feedback from Manager ● Adjust teaching based on feedback from the manager and needs of the students.

    Qualifications ● Alignment and passion for Redeemer’s vision to serve New York City ● Gospel-oriented heart to serve God, families, and youth in New York City ● Commitment to the theology and traditions of the Reformed faith ● Experience in teaching or babysitting elementary aged school aged children ● Ability to maintain calm, caring professionalism during crises or unexpected situations
