The AUTHORIZATIONS COORDINATOR is primarily responsible for obtaining
and tracking all insurance authorizations to ensure accurate billing.
- Provide accurate and timely authorizations.
- Responsible for the tracking of all authorizations, for all
patients, throughout all episodes to ensure all services performed
are approved and able to be paid.
- Works with all sales reps, patient care staff, managers, internal
and external customers to obtain ongoing authorizations in a
timely manner.
- Enters all patient authorizations for patients in Homecare Homebase.
- Assists the billers with clerical support such as filing and
handling faxes.
- Properly fills out and distributes consent forms upon start of care.
- Continually updates computer software knowledge commensurate with
corporate and billing changes and updates.
- Performs other duties as requested and required.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent with documented coursework in
accounting and business communications preferred.
- Previous home care billing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of authorization requirements for a variety of Private
Insurances as well as Medicaid/Medi-Cal (if necessary).
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook functions.
