    The AUTHORIZATIONS COORDINATOR is primarily responsible for obtaining and tracking all insurance authorizations to ensure accurate billing.

    • Provide accurate and timely authorizations.
    • Responsible for the tracking of all authorizations, for all patients, throughout all episodes to ensure all services performed are approved and able to be paid.
    • Works with all sales reps, patient care staff, managers, internal and external customers to obtain ongoing authorizations in a timely manner.
    • Enters all patient authorizations for patients in Homecare Homebase.
    • Assists the billers with clerical support such as filing and handling faxes.
    • Properly fills out and distributes consent forms upon start of care.
    • Continually updates computer software knowledge commensurate with corporate and billing changes and updates.
    • Performs other duties as requested and required.

     

    Required Skills

    • High school diploma or equivalent with documented coursework in accounting and business communications preferred.
    • Previous home care billing experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of authorization requirements for a variety of Private Insurances as well as Medicaid/Medi-Cal (if necessary).
    • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook functions.

    Required Experience
