Kirton McConkie, a large Salt Lake City law firm, has an exciting employment opportunity for a Legal Assistant to work with its Intellectual Property practice group. The ideal candidate will have a positive "can-do" attitude to meet the needs of high-level clients and attorneys.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electronically file patent and trademark-related documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Electronically access patent and trademark records
- Organize, maintain, and docket patents and trademarks
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files
- Manage correspondence between attorney and clients
- Format and construct various pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Provide proactive and advanced legal support
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to meet required deadlines, multi-task, prioritize, organize, and work calmly under pressure
- High attention to detail, proactive, and self-motivated
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Two (2) years of IP experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with Anaqua or similar docketing system preferred
