We are looking for a reliable and adaptable Cook and Childcare Teacher to step into the role of Chef during the chef's absence, ensuring that children continue to receive quality education and nutritious meals. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering an engaging and educational environment for young children, while managing meal preparation and food service in the absence of the regular chef. You will need to seamlessly blend childcare duties with food safety, cooking, and meal planning responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

Childcare Teacher Responsibilities: • As a Teacher you’ll help to create a fun, safe environment for little ones as they explore and learn through purposeful play that nurtures their social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development. • Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child. • Help children explore the world, improve their motor skills and grow their vocabulary. • Work with your co-teacher to implement the lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum. • Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence. • Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.

Cook/Backup Chef Responsibilities: • Meal Planning and Preparation: o Take over all meal planning and cooking duties in the absence of the chef, ensuring balanced and nutritious meals are served to the children. o Create a weekly menu, keeping the children’s dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences in mind. o Prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks, and any special meals as required, following dietary guidelines for children. • Food Safety and Sanitation: o Ensure food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards, following proper food handling and sanitation procedures. o Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including cleaning all surfaces, utensils, and cooking equipment. o Properly store food to avoid contamination and ensure food is served at the right temperature. • Meal Service and Clean-Up: o Serve meals on time, ensuring children have sufficient time to eat and encouraging healthy eating habits. o Manage meal-related logistics, including portion control and clean-up of dining areas post-meal. • Allergy and Dietary Management: o Ensure that all meals meet children’s specific dietary needs, including allergies, intolerances, and any special requests. o Track and review any dietary requirements parents provide to ensure safe meal preparation.
