    Job Summary We are seeking a talented Chef to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing delicious meals for our customers. The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and able to mostly self direct. If you have a passion for creating meals that “wow,” we want to hear from you.

    Responsibilities:

    Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment

    Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner

    Supervise and delegate tasks to other team members

    Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary

    Maintain all food stock and inventory rotation dates

    Maintain clean back kitchen and coolers to health safety standards

    Follow all food safety regulations

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience as a chef or cook

    Certification from culinary school preferred

    ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification

    Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes

    Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure

    Excellent time management skills

    Strong leadership skills

    Must be able to obtain the Food Managers License within 30 days of hire

    We are looking to hire a highly skilled Kitchen Chef for our 31 year established Japanese Restaurant. As a chef with the back of house team, you will be responsible for assisting everything during prep and service including; receiving, fileting, portioning and prepping all kitchen meats, chicken, fish and produce, establishing/following prep lists, leading the production of sauces, garnishes, etc., inventory food and supplies, ensuring dishes are consistently top quality according to our menu, and in general, assist the team on day-to-day tasks as needed.

    Great knife skills and experience preparing consistent high quality dishes in accordance with food health/safety regulations and restaurant standards are a must. You should also be able to customize customers’ orders according to written preferences and food allergy considerations.

    The successful candidate is responsible, conscientious, reliable, punctual, organized, and in general a true professional able to maintain the highest restaurant standards at all times.

    Note: must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

    English Required- Japanese a definite plus.
