Kitchen Manager - Holiday Inn KCI
Overview:
The Kitchen Manager manages the daily kitchen operations at Holiday Inn KCI’s casual dining restaurant, Burger Theory. Previous kitchen management experience is required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage service aspects in all food and beverage assigned areas and events.
· Ensure customers receive a great dining experience by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all guests; resolve situations involving unhappy customers using de-escalation tactics.
· Understand and respond to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
· Confirm that all kitchen staff are in proper uniform and adhere to Hotel KCI LLC’s appearance standards each shift.
· Ensure all franchise-required training is completed for all new kitchen staff within the required time frame, and validate training via written and oral testing.
· Oversee the hiring process, management, and training of kitchen staff in accordance with IHG’s standards of quality and service.
· Create, maintain, and distribute weekly kitchen staff schedules; communicate changes as necessary.
· Perform “cost-out” reporting of all schedules, comparing "plan" to "actual".
· Perform weekly F&B revenue reporting, comparing “plan” to “actual”.
· Conduct pre-shift, pre-meal, and/or pre-event meetings with all necessary staff members; ensure consistent communication within the department.
· Create marketing/promotional plans and activities to drive top-line revenue for the F&B operations.
· Create and report the “cost-out” of all menus for restaurant and banquet areas, revise quarterly or as needed, and ensure budgeted costs are realistic and attainable.
· Evaluate and supervise kitchen staff performance; carry out disciplinary action as needed per the Human Resources Department.
· Monitor inventory of kitchen products and supplies; prepare and place weekly food and beverage product orders.
· May serve as Front of House Restaurant Manager when needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· 1 year experience in a Restaurant/Kitchen Management role required.
· This is a very “hands-on” role and the qualified candidate will be able to jump in, take initiative, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
