A new Sichuanese restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper West Side is seeking a kitchen manager! Help us combine classic and contemporary Sichuanese flavors to create masterful dishes to serve our beloved customers.
As kitchen manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff to perform their best
Develop and execute creative and authentic Sichuanese menus that showcase the diverse flavors and traditions of Sichuanese cuisine.
Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control to optimize kitchen operations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Leader or Manager in a high-volume restaurant, preferably specializing in Chinese cuisine.
Deep knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditions.
Creative flair and passion for innovation in menu development.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification is a plus.
Mandarin Chinese proficiency is required
NYC food handlers’ license is required for this position.
