    Kitchen Supervisor Roles & Responsibilities

    When looking for a Kitchen Supervisor, what should you be looking for?

    You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Also, you should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Has the ability to train, develop, and create a culture for success.

    Job Requirements and Areas of Responsibility

    Overall responsibility for the kitchen daily operations.

    Responsible for food ordering.

    Interviewing and hiring new kitchen staff.

    Monitoring food waste and actual vs. theoretical.

    Controlling the BOH labor cost.

    Completing bi-weekly, or monthly inventory.

    Maintaining food quality and plate presentation standards.

    Communicating, motivating, and Couching BOH employees.

    Responsible for kitchen sanitation, personal hygiene, and daily and weekly kitchen cleanness.

    Responsible for all health codes, local health department visits, and compliance of food safety.

    This position requires commitments to a 50-55 hour work week.

    This job requires lifting up to 25 pounds.
