The Weingarten, a wine bar, restaurant & event venue in Belleville is seeking a motivated team member to join our kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
Execute and enforce the true spirit of the Mission Statement of The Weingarten: “Provide memorable experiences.”
Manage the cleanliness, quality, efficiency and production of The Weingarten kitchen.
Continuously search for ways to maximize efficiency and increase profit margins.
Manage and train The Weingarten's kitchen staff, with and through other department managers.
Ensure kitchen staff is aware of and can competently handle any new procedures and menu changes.
Always maintain professionalism and high-level customer service.
Always maintain efficiency and productivity of the staff. Track the performance of employees to ensure high-level customer service is always being delivered. Make corrections, suggestions when necessary in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
Enforce and follow the priorities and policies set by the Partners.
Resolve disputes with customers alongside with the Assistant Operations Manager and Operations Manager.
Attend management team meetings on a regularly scheduled basis and contribute kitchen-related information.
Assist department managers with their duties when necessary.
Accurately inventory product and consult with vendors for appropriate ordering on a weekly basis.
Accept food orders following proper health code and procedures.
Complete Opening Checklist, including prepping the kitchen so it is ready to handle the day's traffic.
Receive and prepare food orders accurately and as efficiently as possible.
Ensure the quality of food going out meets The Weingarten's standards.
Responsible for maintaining a clean & organized kitchen, always ready for inspection.
Maintaining all kitchen equipment and notifying manager/Partner when repairs are needed.
Creating innovative monthly food specials for our winery guests.
During time when the kitchen is slow, you will be asked to help with other projects to ensure a smooth run of the facility.
Assist with set up and clean up of events and private parties.
Assist other employees with the Closing Checklist at the end of the night including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and other tasks that may come up to ensure business is presentable for opening the following day.
Coordinate with Sales Team to ensure all event-related food/beverage are prepared on time and delivered to the customer/event.

Qualifications:
Kitchen Expereince Required. Management Preferred. Preference will be given toward experience and/or education.
Must have reliable transportation.
ServSafe Certification Preferred. State of IL Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Management Certificate Preferred. Food Allergen Certification Preferred.
Must be available on weekends. Flexibility with daytime & evening shifts preferred.
