JOB TITLE: Kitchen Service Coordinator
JOB CLASSIFICATION : Exempt Full Time/Weekends

REPORTS TO: Program Director
DIRECT REPORTS : Janitor/Housekeeping staff
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the total operation of the kitchen, building maintenance, and coordinates volunteers. The primary responsibility of the kitchen Service Coordinator is to oversee total operation of the kitchen, volunteers, and cleanliness of the building/program. Provide supervision to the Janitorial staff to ensure cleanliness of the building. Ensure all certify services are delivered in accordance with state regulations and DBHID requirements.
SCHEDULE :
Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Evenings and weekends, as needed
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares menus in keeping with the Daily Food Guide and PCH regulations
- Ensures kitchen maintains cleanliness, order and function in accordance with PCH regulations.
- Does weekly food shopping/ordering and coordinates all food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
- Prepares the midday meal, Monday through Friday; preps the evening meal as needed
- Responsible for submitting all receipts for purchases and for keeping within the food budget
- Collaborates with staff regarding women’s celebrations and holidays and prepares accordingly
- Supervises janitorial staff
- Schedules and oversees external vendors/contractors coordinating with janitorial staff for building maintenance.
- Available to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Coordinates volunteers and food donations; assists program Director and Social Work Supervisor with other donations affecting the residents
- Attends Total staff meetings and makes use of in-service opportunities
- Other duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) with some supervisory and food services experience.
- Holds or able to obtain certification in safe food handling.
- Holds or able to obtain certification in CPR and first aid.
- Holds or able to obtain direct care staff person training course/test online and has submitted the certificate of training.
- Has a desire, interest, and ability to work with women with severe and persistent mental health who have experienced homelessness.
- Has excellent organizational skills, is flexible, hospitable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Holds a valid state driver's license.
- Available to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
