    Job Description

    Client (Government Services) seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Lead) with a DISC Secret Clearance or higher to support client and their government customer in Huntsville, AL.     POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Leads Secure DevSecOps application development program for all customer Applications by building, executing, and documenting a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (Secure SDLC) for both on-premises and cloud solutions. Involved heavily in Application Development, Application Migrations, Cloud Migrations, RMF and FISCAM projects. Should have experience in delivering fullstack Line of Business (LoB) software solutions. Should have advanced working knowledge of C#, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, .NET Framework, vbScript, XML, operating within a DoD environment with enabling technologies such as Apache Tomcat, Globalscape SFTP, Active Directory, RedHat Enterprise Linux, VMware ESXI 7.0+, Windows Server 2012/16/19+, SCCM, WSUS, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, Advanced PowerShell, Enviromux, Cohesity, IIS, MS SQL, RHEL. Leads projects and participates alongside software architects to design secure systems that include web applications, real-time data processing, data warehousing and business intelligence while addressing both short- and long-term business and technology goals of the platform. Must be familiar with DoD RMF.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Develop and maintain the Master Schedule for all modernization efforts using MS Project.

    • Lead and advise development of, design concepts, plans, processes, structures, to meet deliverables for all modernization efforts.

    • Perform security analyses of developed or packaged software components.

    • Lead the effort to gather and develop requirements documents for all modernization efforts.

    • Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems.

    • Design solutions in support of cloud technology projects integrating Army policy, security, and incorporates DEV/SEC/OPS strategies.

    • Lead the design effort for the modernization of customer infrastructure and develop technical specifications, and system life-cycle management strategies.

    • Oversee the development of virtualized network hardware and software, platforms and infrastructure.

    • Knowledge of a broad spectrum of technologies including applications, servers, database, storage, backup systems, networking, and security.

    • Develop comprehensive test plan and acceptance criteria to ensure functionality and quality of each effort.

    • Incorporate all security requirements at every level of modernization.

    • Collaborate and guide virtualized solutions from concept to full operational capability, in coordination with the O&M teams.

    • Facilitate efforts related to RMF, ATOs and network stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of all modernized elements.

    • Develop system engineering, software engineering, system integration, or distributed system architectures.

    • Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.

    • Ensure all related schematics, user manuals, instructions, source code repositories, data administrative and maintenance plans, guides, libraries, are kept current.

    • Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements.

    • Develop Test Plans, acceptance criteria and oversee testing, to verify proper functioning of software/hardware changes, replacements, modernization, patches, and fixes.

    • Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information.

    • Communicate project information through presentations, technical reports, white papers, or other government defined means.

    • Define and analyze objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of information systems.

    • Design and conduct hardware or software tests.

    • Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability.

    • Provide customers or installation teams guidelines for implementing secure systems.

    • Establish functional or system standards to address operational requirements, quality requirements and design constraints.

    • Investigate system component suitability for specific purposes and make recommendations regarding component use.

    • Complete models and simulations, using manual or automated tools, to analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions.

    • Develop for approval project plans, schedules, and budgets.

    • Develop efficient and effective system controllers.

    • Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements.

    • Lead the development of application-specific software.

    • Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software.

    WORK EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Master’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience, plus 96 months hands on as SCRUM lead for large projects

    • Certification: IAT Level II or higher

    • 5+ years of direct virtualization experience

    • Active Secret Clearance

    • Eventually a hybrid role once established
