    In addition to being directly responsible for taking the lead on all video shooting and editing projects, the Lead Cinematographer/Editor is directly responsible for upholding and improving upon the video standards of the XSIGHT brand. This is done by working closely with the photography department, marketing department and Production team to ensure project specifications are properly executed to XSIGHT’s standards and that the client’s needs, vision and expectations are exceeded. This is accomplished by having an in-depth understanding of XSIGHT’s mission and vision and ensuring all video projects and productions that are contracted reflect the brand promise to our clients.

    Structure:

    Your regular responsibilities include:

    Having expert level knowledge of videography techniques, video, audio and lighting equipment and all related software

    Taking the lead on all video shoots across all genres that are secured by the studio

    Taking the lead on-set and all shoots for video jobs

    Overseeing and directing on-set crew

    Able to fill multiple roles on smaller projects when needed including DP, director and audio tech

    Directing all on-camera subjects/talent to meet project specs when needed

    Communicating with and updating clients during shoots

    Keeping productions on track to meet deadlines

    Ensuring all video and audio footage that is needed to be captured is accounted for

    Is creative, flexible and experienced shooting in different environments and conditions

    Can follow structured storyboards, shot lists and schedules during commercial shoots while still able to capture run-and-gun style events

    Overseeing video post production

    Managing all raw video and audio files and archiving

    Reviewing all raw footage for quality and completeness

    Making notes for other shooters about shooting techniques, technical items and/or proper coverage

    Addressing any problems or successes with the video team

    Working as the Lead Video Editor on all projects (description below)

    Sales and Client Meetings

    Assisting with sales meetings when needed

    Assisting with project proposals as needed

    Quality Assurance

    Reviewing all videographers and editors work for quality

    Working with all videographers on capturing content to XSIGHT’s standards

    Ensuring all final videos meet XSIGHT standards

    Understanding the XSIGHT brand and continually works to keep in line with it

    Overseeing all video post production Responsible for all final video edits

    Has expert level knowledge of video and audio editing techniques and software including file management, how to troubleshoot, specifications for different file formats and different methods of delivery

    Creating video edits per project scope

    Is familiar with the project deliverables

    Ensures all edits meet or exceed the specified project deliverables, within the specified budget and timeframe

    Ensures proper editing techniques and best practices are followed for an efficient workflow

    Works with the Production Coordinator on tasking assistants with preliminary editing - project organization, clip selections, pre-cutting interviews, etc.

    Time tracking of all edits and updates project management tools upon completion and is able to stay within the specified hours allotted for a project

    Makes creative decisions to enhance videos

    Editing style/technique

    Graphics/motion graphics

    3D graphics/animations

    Music selection

    Color correction/grading

    Audio mixing

    Updates Production Coordinator for quality and completeness check

    Requirements:

    Must have expert level knowledge of modern video technology including cameras and video/audio editing software and techniques.

    Minimum of three years experience required in the video industry and must have a filming and editing demo to submit upon applying.

    Must be local or planning to be local to the Sacramento area and able to work full-time in our creative studio in Downtown Sacramento.

    Must be able to be present and lead all video shoots as needed even while working remotely.

    Must be comfortable working with a small crew and leading a small video team.

    Some weekend and evening work will be required.
