  • Responsibilities

    PURPOSE

    Answer incoming calls to the Loan Department and assist members with routine questions regarding consumer loans and rates. Review and verify loan documentation. Complete all documentation necessary to perfect liens.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Gather and audit/review daily all loan packages including mortgages insuring that loan files contain proper documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data. Report any exceptions and assure that corrections are made immediately by the MSR/Lender.
    • Answer telephone for the loan department, provide routine information, and/or route calls to appropriate MSR/Lender. Take messages and coordinate follow through.
    • Be knowledgeable of all products and services and cross-sell credit union products and services at every opportunity.
    • Be knowledgeable of all regulatory and compliance requirements covering all loan types.
    • Gather daily all booked loan packages from the MSRs.
    • Verify that loan documents are compliant with all regulations, laws and policies/procedures.
    • Ensure that liens can and will be perfected and monitor completion of process.
    • Monitor exceptions and prepare/present exceptions reports as scheduled/requested updating as necessary.
    • Prepare reports as requested by management.
    • Maintain an adequate supply of all forms used in the consumer loan department including file folders and general office supplies.
    • Process claims and cancellations for disability, life, gap and warranty insurance.
    • Upload insurance policies covering collateral into the system.
    • Manage/enter all forced place insurance information to submit to insurance company.
    • Process loan payoffs and release liens when necessary.
    • Handle mortgage re-inscriptions and property tax verification of payments.
    • Submit HMDA reporting as required. This includes the gathering of information and entries.
    • Maintain the tickler system and send out HELOC anniversary letters.
    • Release liens, titles etc.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Knowledge of computers and general office equipment
    • Knowledge of software/programs used in this position
    • Able to understand and follow verbal or written instructions
    • Must have excellent verbal and written skills
    • Must be accurate and organized and maintain a neat work environment
    • Able to work in a sales-oriented environment
    • Maintain a professional appearance.
