    Role Description

    This is a contract hybrid role for a Mental Health Counselor at AMA Behavioral Therapy, PLLC. The role is located in Shavano Park, TX with flexibility for some remote work. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling services, developing treatment plans, conducting assessments, and offering support to clients in need. Ideally we would want you to have interest in working with OCD and related Anxiety disorders. The role requires that you are available three Saturdays a month for at least five clients each Saturday.

    Qualifications

    • Fully licensed LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with a master’s degree in mental health counseling (LMHC) or equivalent.

    • Proficient in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and electronic medical record software.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

    • Demonstrated empathy and non-judgmental attitude towards clients.

    • Experience diagnosing and treating mental health disorders, particularly anxiety-based disorders.

    • Knowledge and application of HIPAA and principles of confidentiality.

    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment relevant regulatory bodies and the law.

    • Willingness to work with adolescents 6+ years of age and adults.

    • Ability to be a self sufficient and independent worker

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs initial evaluations of client needs and develops customized treatment plans based on client diagnosis.

    • Provides individuals, couples, families, and/or groups with the resources they need to reach personal goals.

    • Conducts therapeutic sessions using evidenced-based practices beginning and ending on time.

    • Monitors client progress and modifies their treatment plans as needed.

    • Completes continuing education courses to maintain professional licensure set by the state.

    • Stays up to date on the latest evidence-based treatments.

    • Adheres to ethical guidelines set forth by profession by state and national and HIPAA.

    • Availability for at least 5-8 client hours as a part-time contracted clinician per week

    • Maintains documentation including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes within a week of conducting a therapeutic session.

    • Applies effective and positive communication skills when interfacing with clients, peer clinicians, and office support.

    • Practices within the scope of knowledge.

    • Determine the status of patients mental health by using medical information, interviews, observation, and testing, as well as collaboration with other staff members.

    • Assist with intervention for patients when a crisis occurs.

    • Develop specific therapy plans with goals and objectives for individual patients.

    • Refer patients and family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.

    • Evaluate patients’ circumstances on a regular basis and provide necessary follow-up care.

    Compensation

    $45 - $50 hourly
