Position Overview:
The RN/LPN will work under the supervision of clinic physicians and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, and ensuring compliance with treatment protocols. In addition, this position includes overseeing the daily duties of Medical Assistants (MAs) and supporting team coordination to maintain operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Perform initial screening of patient history and chief complaints.
Document medications, dosages, and patient history accurately in the EHR.
Administer medications, perform diagnostic testing, and carry out procedures such as venipunctures, injections, and IVs as ordered.
Oversee and guide MAs in their daily duties, ensuring adherence to protocols.
Serve as a resource for team members needing clarification or assistance with procedures.
Conduct morning team meetings to review daily plans and patient schedules.
Update patient records and ensure accurate documentation, including ICD-10 coding and CPT capture.
Collaborate with other clinic staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
Triage patient communication, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism.
Review medical records and lab results, prioritizing critical values for immediate provider attention.
Educate patients about medications and care plans.
Ensure proper stocking and organization of supplies.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and team meetings to enhance clinic operations.
Valid RN or LPN license in Washington State (required).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in family medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, or 1 year in allergy and asthma settings.
Experience with EHR systems and strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a collaborative environment.
BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred.
Work Environment: This role is based at Spokane Allergy & Asthma, where our team provides exceptional care to our patients. The position may require occasional lifting of supplies and standing for extended periods during preparation and testing.
