ROLE PURPOSE STATEMENT: Leadership position at CSC (Customer Service Center); responsible for the administration and management of Human Resources policies and procedures and the Master National Agreement; ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws; handles employee relations issues for CSC employees.
BUSINESS STRATEGY, POLICIES, AND TOOLS
- Ensure compliance with the policies provided by region and Corporate
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Responsible for the implementation of human resources policies and programs for union and non-union employees in Customer Service Center (CSC).
- Locally administer and interpret Master National Agreement (MNA); administer MNA grievance procedures
- Provides advice and counsel to operational management regarding human resources practices, policy and employment laws; active member of CSC senior leadership team.
- Responsible for supporting employees regarding employee relations issues.
- Develop and monitor recruitment budget at CSC level.
- Utilize understanding of Manpower planning process to appropriately develop Recruitment Plan for CSC
- Coordinate with External Recruitment resources to fill openings at all levels of the CSC
- Partner with Operations in execution Development programs for CSC employees
- Manage Start to Finish On-Boarding Process for all new hires –to include background checks
- Pre-hire screenings and Orientation Process
- Participate in CSC safety programs and worker’s compensation claims ensuring company conformance to applicable laws and regulations. Completes OSHA required reporting.
- Manage unemployment claims
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Assist with the administration of field training programs such as employment laws/regulations, supervisor training, safety, etc.
- Lead and/or participate in Headquarters (HDQ) initiated ad-hoc projects
- Support Field HR personnel with CSC business start-ups and changes or reduction activities
LEADERSHIP
- Ensure area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
- Plan, implement and control the cost and budget in area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field preferred
- In addition, minimum seven years of Human Resource generalist experience with a minimum of two years involvement with labor unions
- Supervisor and/or management experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization both oral and written
- Practical knowledge of federal and state employment laws and their applicability in the workplace.
- Team-oriented individual with strong leadership ability
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
