Apollo Surgery Center is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team that offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth. The LVN will provide nursing care, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician, in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

· Our operations have been growing substantially and further expansion is expected through the addition of several more providers and high-acuity cases.

· Apollo Surgery Center just opened a new state of the art 6,000 sq ft Surgery Center in December 2022.

· The new ASC has 3 procedure rooms with 4 pre-op and 7 post-op beds and specializes in gastroenterology services to include colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.

Responsibilities:

Admission of patients for GI or surgical procedures to include use of EMR, vital signs and IV placement. Must be proficient in IV skills.

Assisting RN and physician in providing pre-operative, post-operative care & discharge of patients.

Performs nursing functions (e.g., monitors vital signs, maintains/improves respiratory function, performs catheterizations, etc.) under RN direction/supervision.

Confirms preoperative testing/medical clearance is in patient’s medical chart prior to procedure.

Collaborates with RN in assessing the patient’s physical and emotional status.

Implements and documents preoperative regimen of care according to policy/procedure.

Recognizes patient’s need for support, answers questions appropriately, and provides for privacy and confidentiality.

Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care by documenting patient’s responses to interventions

Documents records and other forms accurately and according to policies and procedures

Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

Additional duties may include but not limited to patient phone calls, assisting with daily checks, reports, clerical duties, cross training where applicable

Must have excellent time management skills, team player, willing to help where needed.

Job Type: Part-time, Monday through Friday, varied days- dayshift

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.

Experience:

Nursing: 3 years (Required)

Outpatient surgery/procedure, GI, OR and/or medical/surgical nursing preferred.

License/Certification:

BLS Certification (required)

LVN (Required) CA licensure practice in good standing.
