As an Employment Attorney at Fairgrieve Law Office, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging employment issues to help clients stay within the bounds of California law. For this part-time position, we offer a flexible, remote work schedule with a competitive salary of $86,000 - $100,000 annually. There is potential, but not pressure, to transition into a larger role. The Firm promotes a positive, collaborative work culture, and we take pride in guiding clients to do the same. Responsibilities: The Role: • The opening is for a part-time associate position, to work approximately 15 hours per week. • The associate will be responsible for advising and representing companies in employment law matters. • The attorney will counsel and advise clients to implement proactive best practices, reduce risk and ensure compliance in handling employment situations, and respond to questions. Often inquiries are time-sensitive. • The attorney will represent clients in matters before agencies such as the Labor Commissioner’s Office and the Department of Civil Rights. Hearings are generally conducted remotely. • The attorney will represent employers in litigation matters. The Firm handles only a few litigated matters at any given time, as our primary function is to advise clients. • The attorney will advise on and draft workplace policies and handbooks. Qualifications: Who We're Looking For: • A California-licensed attorney. • An employment attorney with deep and thorough knowledge of California employment law. • Someone who thrives in a more personalized environment, and can independently advise employers regarding employment law compliance. • A lawyer who is self-sufficient and dependable, and who appreciates the importance of details • Employment litigation experience. • Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. • We are growing, and you will likely be called upon to wear many hats.
