    Job Description

    This role offers a starting range, with no experience, at $20 to $23 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications such as experience, education, certifications, and skills, as well as geographic considerations.

    We are seeking a Laboratory Admin Assistant/Laboratory Technician to be based in our West Chicago, IL. facility. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and excellent customer service skills. This role reports to the Lab Manager and involves cooperation with other departments, particularly manufacturing and R&D.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Keep all related SAP reports up to date and error-free.
    • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for various projects.
    • Assist the Lab Manager in assigned duties.
    • Maintain a log of Service Call Reports created by the inplants.
    • Maintain Approved National Standard books.
    • File can samples.
    • Enter material information and formulas into SAP.
    • Process sample requests.
    • Create labels and proof books for completed jobs.
    • Compile statistics and prepare various reports for management, sales, and customers.
    • Log and complete color match requests, including matching colors and making proof displays for customers.
    • Establish and maintain accurate records for all color match formulas, hard files, and computer files.
    • Maintain the work area, including cleaning and upkeep of equipment and instruments, waste disposal, and ensuring everything is in safe working order.
    • Perform established assessment tests/evaluations of products in QC when needed.
    • Recognize and respond appropriately to production urgencies.
    • Operate, clean, and understand the principles and practical functions of lab equipment and instruments.
    • Stay current on changing requirements in test methods, evaluations, specifications, and other special situations.
    • Complete assigned online safety training and work in a safe manner.
    • Order and maintain inventory of assigned lab supplies.
    • Work cooperatively with other groups in the technical department and other departments.
    • Take on added responsibilities as needs arise.

    ** To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:**

    • Have a High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Pass color vision test
    • Have a minimum of 1 year related experience
    • Demonstrate good math skills
    • Show excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrate good knowledge of Microsoft Suite (MS Office) programs.

    ** In addition to these qualifications, we will consider as a plus if you have:**

    • Prior ink/coating experience
    • Knowledge of SAP
    • Experience with X-Rite spectrophotometer and software
    • Bachelor's degree
