Responsible for expediting the workflow within the lab and daily quality control. Accountable for keeping the lab management informed of all laboratory testing issues and needs, instrument status and content/accuracy of testing data and results.
Ensure test methods are implemented correctly on a daily basis.
Address technical issues that arise from routine analysis and bring more complex issues to Lab Management’s
attention.
Coordinate and schedule/assign laboratory assignments to Lab Technicians.
Receive, compile, and verify data resulting from laboratory testing.
Analyze, compile and review quality control sample results to ensure operating efficiency of testing equipment.
Have a complete understanding of all applicable analysis and safety standards including ASTM, UOP, and IP.
Perform analysis according to industry standards and requirements.
Prepare analytical reports.
Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment and supplies.
Complete required safety training and obtain any necessary certifications.
Prepare chemical solutions according to applicable standards.
Act as liaison between Lab Management and Operations.
Coordinate with Retain/Shipping & Receiving to outsource samples for clients and internal labs.
Communicate directly with Operations regarding analysis updates and issues.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Work is primarily performed in a laboratory with occasional trip to collect or deliver samples The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. AmSpec Services provides product information, training, engineering controls, and personal protective equipment in an effort to protect employees from exposure to potentially harmful levels of those materials. Employees are required to read product information, use available engineering controls, follow guidelines presented during training, and be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, including respiratory protective equipment, as may be required by the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements:
Safety Sensitive position that requires pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing). Ability to stand for long periods of time.
