Please note that you must have a valid New York State Driver's license and must live in the state of New York. This a daily field position, and you are expected to be on-site for each project. The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for overseeing and conducting surveying projects for various clients. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to lead a team of surveying professionals.
This position can be based out of Binghamton, Syracuse, Rochester, or Albany office.
What you'll be able to do:
- Oversee and conduct surveys to determine precise locations and measurements of various features such as land boundaries, topography, and other physical features.
- Lead and direct a team of surveying professionals in the field to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Develop and maintain accurate survey records, reports, and sketches to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data collected.
- Operate survey equipment such as Total Stations, GPS units, and data collectors to collect accurate measurements and data.
- Analyze survey data and prepare maps, charts, and other graphical representations of survey results using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Minimum AA degree in surveying or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in surveying, including experience as a Party Chief.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Extensive knowledge of surveying equipment, methods, and practices.
- Familiar with Trimble S5/S7 Robotics, Trimble R12i RTK, Trimble R10 base station, Trimble TSC5 data collection, Trimble access, Trimble digital levels, and level run adjustments.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and Autodesk.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients,
- contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in the field in various weather conditions, some overnight travel.
