    LOCATION: Midland, TX

    CONTEXT: Seeking a Landman/Water Resource Specialist that has knowledge of Texas permitting requirements, as well as experience negotiating and securing contracts related to oil and gas water resource management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Frequent interaction and coordinate with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), State Land Office (SLO), and private landowners as required to support project requirements.
    • Develop and maintain excellent landowner relationships.
    • Coordinate with various local, state, and federal regulatory entities as required to support project requirements.
    • Acquire and dispose of surface tracts as needed.
    • Appraise and negotiate monetary settlements regarding surface damage.
    • Apply appropriate company environmental, health and safety policies and principles when performing job duties.
    • Manage complaints, and resolve grievances that may arise during surface related business activities.
    • Research title and tax records as needed.
    • Landowner negotiations for temporary access.
    • Utilize Google Earth to map potential routes, clients and sources.
    • Read and analyze USGS topographic maps.
    • Record sales, transfer volumes, and other activities in an organized and efficient manner to meet internal and regulatory requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience as a surface landman, right of way agent, or similar role.
    • Water resource education, related field experience or landman background.
    • 1-2 years of experience in water related operations.
    • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work well with peers, surface owners, governmental entities, and other inside and outside stakeholders.
    • Ability to anticipate project needs and proactively meet them.
    • Strong organization, task prioritizing, and record keeping skills/habits.
    • Advanced knowledge of Surface Use, Water Use, and Easement agreements.
    • Ability to understand and analyze contract provisions.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
