They serve both public and private sector clients, with a focus on fostering community growth and enhancing environmental stewardship. The team is comprised of 19 licensed professionals with over 300 years combined experience, who are supported by a committed and talented group of over 40 technical and administrative staff.

    Job Summary

    Our client is seeking a Landscape architect with experience in master planning and working with local municipalities in the Kansas City region. An ideal candidate will have experience managing a wide variety of projects with a strong focus on parks and recreation. This individual will work closely with design and engineering professionals on a wide range of project types for both public and private sector clients. This role requires the ability to prepare advanced AutoCAD drawings from sketches, marked-up prints, as-built and other reference materials. It also requires the ability to create final drawings for technical and construction related purposes and review for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with required standards.     Primary Responsibilities

    • Develop client relationships in pursuit of new and existing projects
    • Plan overall project objectives, milestones, and time-and-cost budgets
    • Manage design processes and document production
    • Prepare studies, reports, presentation materials, design documents and construction documents
    • Prepare grading plans, landscape design and land development site plans and subdivisions
    • Landscape design for buffers, rain gardens, streetscapes, etc.
    • Effectively coordinate with internal team and project members as well as external client personnel

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of project management experience is preferred
    • 7+ years of landscape architectural experience is preferred
    • Excellent hand and computer graphic skills
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and working knowledge of additional 3D modeling programs
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
    • Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • Work effectively and professionally with internal and external team members
    • Organized and punctual
    • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams
    • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
    • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
    • Experience with public and private sector clients
    • Familiarity with good planting standards and style
    • Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the day
    • Ability to travel to job sites or meetings on occasion

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university
    • Professional Landscape Architect licensure in Kansas or Missouri or the qualifications to obtain licensure within 6 months of employment
