You can anticipate working on projects within civic, cultural, faith-based, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, mixed-use, preservation and reuse, sports and wellness, and workplace. Our success is based on the client’s vision coming to life and includes a team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Planners, and support staff who play a part in solving complex design problems. We are seeking a Landscape Architectural Designer who will add their skills and creativity to our diverse projects.

    ** Core Responsibilities**

    • Assist with overarching design of projects per the Browning Day design process.
    • Use technical knowledge, communication, and coordination skills to meet project requirements.
    • Participate in a limited capacity with selected marketing and business development opportunities.
    • Provide regular status updates to the Senior Landscape Architects or Project Managers.
    • Maintain awareness of project budget and schedule throughout the project duration.
    • Assists with documentation and of all meeting notes
    • Continued advancement of professional development utilizing available resources.
    • Support programming efforts, including information gathering site analysis and site inventory of existing conditions, identifying opportunities and constraints.
    • Assist with the coordination of consultants, subconsultants, other disciplines, and contractors.
    • Support the development of innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetically pleasing, safe, and code compliant to achieve the client’s goals and project budget.
    • Incorporate and consider sustainable design solutions into all projects.
    • Select and specify appropriate materials and associated details.
    • Impact design, documentation, specifications, and construction administration.
    • Support project team during quality assurance, quality control, and design review.
    • Assist with the Construction Administration phase by responding to RFIs, ASI, shop drawings, field site reviews and reports.
    • Implement Browning Day standards for all project deliverables and processes.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Proficient knowledge of the following:
      • Site and building regulations and safety / ADA / FHA / zoning codes.
      • Design techniques, tools, and the principles involved in production.
      • Construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer appropriateness.
      • Commonly used concepts and best practices within the profession.
    • Ability to graphically communicate design concepts as required by a variety of projects.
    • Technical proficiency in the following:
      • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
      • AutoCAD
      • Knowledge of 3D Modeling software (ex: SketchUp, Lumion, etc.)
      • Knowledge of Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher
    • Satisfactory completion of a background screening.
    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA)
    • Licensed Landscape Architect or working toward licensure.
    • Preferred professional experience 0-3+ years.
