    The Landscape Lead Technician is responsible for working with the Project Foreman to install and carry out softscaping and hardscaping projects on an ongoing basis, identifying needs on a jobsite (Garden Bed Installation, Planting/Horticulture, Grading, Sod, Seeding/Overseeding, Artificial Turf,, Drainage, Pavers/Slabs, Retaining/Freestanding Wall, Boulder Wall, Landscape Steps, Natural Stone/Paver Edging, Fire Pit), understanding and delegating tasks to crew members when necessary, communicating expectations thoroughly, meeting with Project Foreman to review jobsite plans, directing the progress of the project in absence of the Project Foreman, as well as ensuring that a quality job is performed in an effective and professional manner. In-office training and education is provided. This position is applicable in both residential and commercial settings.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a similar field.

    Certification in landscaping, horticulture, or a related field (preferred).

    Familiarity with both residential and commercial landscaping practices.

    Proficiency in using landscaping tools and equipment, such as excavators, skid steers, tampers, chop saws, etc...

    Ability to install hardscaping features (e.g., pavers, retaining walls, or walkways) and softscaping elements.

    Experience supervising, training, and motivating landscaping teams.

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

    Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and adherence to specifications.

    Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, standing, kneeling, or bending for extended periods.

    Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

    Responsibilities include:

    Participate and occasionally lead a crew of 1-2 others through the installation of softscapes and hardscapes.

    Ensure the successful installation of Garden Beds, Plantings, Sod, Seed, Artificial Turf, Drainage, Pavers, Retaining Walls, Boulder Walls, Landscape Steps, Grading, etc.

    Interact with Supervisors, Project Foreman and clients to ensure clear communication throughout all installations.

    Operate and oversee the use of landscaping tools and machinery, such as excavators, skid steers, tampers, chop saws, etc...

    Perform or coordinate regular maintenance and minor repairs of tools and equipment.

    Present knowledge, information, and direction to other crew members.

    Ensure client and company satisfaction through quality work.

    Provide insight and suggestions for processes that are critical to the success of the crew and company.

    Show interest in daily tasks and projects.

    Ensure all team members adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times.

    Identify and mitigate potential hazards on job sites.

    Review and interpret blueprints, designs, and work orders to plan project execution.

    OT Pay: 1 & ½ pay after 40 hours/week - Overtime hours regularly available.
