Our Landside Operations Division (that's airport-speak for “Parking”) is wondering if you might be just the right person to step in and fill a vacancy on this busy team. Customer service and cash handling are just part of the equation in this job. In this role you will also help keep the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) safe and accessible for the traveling public, serving as the primary point of contact for patrons using the RNO parking structure. You will also collect fees from ground transportation providers (taxi drivers, etc.), balance funds before and after your shift, and complete various types of paperwork. It's a great team that plays a very important role at our airport. In addition, this position qualifies for a $1000 recruitment bonus paid in three installments at 3 months ($250) six months ($250), and one year ($500).

    There is one position open. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) 7 days a week - including holidays. To be considered for this position, applicants must indicate they are available for day, swing and night shifts (all three), and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System. Further, once you pass your probationary period, you will be eligible to progress to a Landside Attendant II after meeting various internal benchmarks, including customer service acumen, technical proficiencies, and other practical standards.

    **Examples of Job Duties
    **

    • Receive parking tickets from patrons, calculate the appropriate fee using a computerized cashiering terminal, receive monies and makes change; process charge and check payment transactions.
    • Balance funds at the beginning and end of assigned shift by physically counting money in cash drawer to complete cash drawer accounting.
    • Pick up/dispose of debris from parking facilities and keep work areas functional by cleaning as necessary in order to maintain an attractive appearance and hazard free work environment; restock supplies when required.
    • Drive a shuttle van (14 passenger) between various parking lots and the terminal building, completing inspection forms before and after each trip.
    • Assist Taxi Operators in the management of their Grounds Transportation account, as well as, special requests, by operating the computerized access system that allows Operators to migrate into the secure Grounds Transportation area.
    • Assist with the opening and closing of lots daily by using the computerized system; assist employees with access to employee lots.
    • Assist with monitoring the Grounds Transportation area using the camera system.
    • Direct traffic during peak periods of activity, when overflow parking lots are used, to avoid congestion and keep cars flowing smoothly.
    • Complete required reports and paperwork including vouchers, check-in/check-out forms, providing accurate information to assist efficient parking operations.
    • Inventory vehicles in the parking structure in order to provide management with accurate data on facility usage.
    • Perform jump starts on disabled vehicles by safely using jumper cables in order to assist airport patrons.
    • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner to provide information within the area of assignment.
    • Provide information to patrons regarding surface streets, directions to specific locations and similar details; resolve conflicts and/or handles unusual situations.

    Entry Salary : $16.91 – 19.87 per hour with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $ 24.31 . In addition, employees working non-day shifts receive an additional $2.40 per hour of shift differential pay. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This position is hourly and overtime eligible.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent certificate. Required Experience: One (1) year of experience i n a customer service role involving regular, direct public contact. Preferred Experience: One (1) year of experience in cash handling/computerized revenue collection and cashiering. Licensing: A valid driver's license is required at time of application.
