    Job Title: PROD - Laser Operator I EEO Classification: Operatives

    Department: Production FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Reports to: Laser Team Lead

    Position Summary: Inspects canopy parts from the Laser table by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and laser procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Completes and understands canopy familiarization training.

    Follows production drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards for operations.

    Inspects canopy parts for defects and records activity in computer.

    Must be able to identify different fabric types.

    Responsible to read Laser Code.

    Coordinates rejected parts for recut with nesters.

    Responsible for hand cut canopy parts.

    Completes required production paperwork and barcodes daily activity accurately.

    Meets all quality requirements, efficiency goals, and production schedules.

    Must meet Laser Department goals.

    Understands and utilizes the Lean & Cellular Manufacturing process for the continuous improvement of product, quality, efficiency, scrap reduction, safety, and ergonomics.

    Keeps work area clean and neat.

    Must be able to float to different jobs when there is down time.

    Must use designated Laser Safety glasses when in laser table area.

    Assists in training new or inexperienced employees.

    Responsible to review First Piece canopy packages, Engineering Bulletins or Design Summary packages to familiarize on product.

    Follows all safety rules and has basic understanding of machine operations where applicable.

    Performs other inherent duties related, but not limited, to the above.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    · High School diploma or GED Equivalent required. · 1 year inspection experience preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    · Must pass certifications for assigned operations · Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of computers. · Must be able to read, understand and follow written Standard Operating Procedure Specifications that are written in the English language. · Must pass the Performance Designs, Inc., Light Industrial Test. · Must pass the Purdue Pegboard Dexterity Test.

    Physical Requirements

    Finger, hand and arm dexterity crucial for manipulating canopy parts.

    Visual acuity necessary for inspection of parts.

    Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Must have legible handwriting to complete required documentation.

    Must be able to sit, stand, bend and lift for extended periods of time depending upon job task
