Position Overview: The Lawn Maintenance Sprinkler Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing sprinkler and irrigation systems for Brightstar Property Maintenance Services customers. The technician ensures proper watering of lawns and gardens while providing excellent customer service, ensuring systems are working efficiently, and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Setup: Install new sprinkler and irrigation systems, including sprinklers, valves, piping, and controllers, for commercial properties.
Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct regular maintenance and seasonal inspections on existing sprinkler systems. Adjust, repair, and replace sprinkler heads, timers, valves, and lines as necessary.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues with sprinkler systems, including water pressure problems, faulty timers, broken sprinkler heads, leaks, and wiring issues.
System Adjustments: Adjust sprinkler settings to ensure proper water coverage and efficiency. Optimize watering schedules to minimize water wastage and ensure healthy lawn growth.
Customer Service: Communicate directly with customers to explain maintenance, repairs, and installation processes. Provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements as needed.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any customer concerns. Provide reports to supervisors or managers as required.
Equipment Handling: Properly operate and maintain company tools and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.
Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and industry best practices while working. Ensure a clean, safe working environment and ensure proper disposal of any waste materials.
Upkeep of Service Vehicle: Ensure that the company vehicle is properly stocked with necessary tools, parts, and equipment. Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in irrigation systems or landscaping is a plus.
Previous experience with lawn care, irrigation systems, or landscape maintenance is highly preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems and components.
Knowledge of irrigation best practices, including water conservation techniques.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to use handheld tools, power tools, and irrigation system software.
Work Conditions:
Work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
