Job Summary
The Lead / Assistant Childcare Teacher is responsible for creating a stimulating, nurturing classroom environment that promotes children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. This role involves lesson planning, classroom management, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure a high-quality early learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education best practices.
Create a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, providing guidance and support.
Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Observe and assess children’s progress, documenting development and communicating with parents.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining compliance with state licensing regulations.
Plan and facilitate parent-teacher conferences as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.
Previous experience as a lead teacher or in a childcare setting.
Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
