    We are searching for a Lead Bank Teller. This position is Contract-to-Hire.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Receive retail and commercial checking and savings deposits, determine all necessary documentation is in place, and issue receipts.
    • Cash checks and savings withdrawals; confirm all necessary documentation is in place, authorized, and within authorized limits; act when questionable items are presented.
    • Operate computer terminal to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority.
    • Issue official checks, assist with night deposits, log bags, process deposits, fulfill change order, issue receipts, and return bags to customers.
    • May serve as back up courier.
    • Cross-sell the bank’s products and services and refer customers to appropriate people.
    • Performs safe deposit duties by controlling access and assisting customers.
    • Receives and processes stop payment and hold orders.
    • Receive loan and installment payments.
    • Balances cash drawer daily and verifies cash being returned to the vault.
    • Provide superior customer service and assist in resolving problems within authority.
    • Record, file, and updates information.
    • Prepare wire transfers and sort mail and reports.
    • Answer telephones and direct callers to proper personnel.
    • Gather data and process reports.
    • Assist in opening and closing the vault daily and assist with balancing vault currency and coin.
    • Issue routine letters, reports, and forms.
    • Maintain files, copies, and fax documents; order supplies as needed.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Three years of related experience or training. Work-related experience should consist of a cash handling and customer service in a banking environment.
    • Basic experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services.
    • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other bank operational policies.
    • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, word processing and spreadsheet software.
    • Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
    • Basic math skills: calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin, and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
    • Possess effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
    • Ability to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
