    Position Overview: | As a Bar Lead at Buck & Honey's in Waunakee, you'll play a crucial role in leading our bar team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day bar operations, ensuring a high standard of service, and maintaining a positive and efficient working environment. This role requires a mix of leadership skills, bartending expertise, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service.

    Lead & Supervise: | Manage a team of bartenders, barbacks, and other bar staff, ensuring smooth and efficient bar operations.

    Guest Service: | Interact with guests to ensure a memorable experience, resolve any issues, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

    Bar Operations: | Oversee inventory, handle ordering and stocking, manage cleanliness and organization of the bar, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

    Training: | Mentor and train new bar staff on bartending techniques, drink recipes, customer service standards, and Buck & Honey's values.

    Drinks & Menu Expertise: | Stay current on the bar menu, cocktail offerings, and any special promotions or seasonal items. Ensure all drinks are crafted to meet Buck & Honey’s high standards.

    Batching Ingredients: | Prepare large batches of cocktail mixers, syrups, juices, and pre-made cocktails for use throughout the week. This includes measuring and mixing ingredients, labeling them for easy identification, and ensuring they’re stored properly for freshness.

    Storage & Labeling: | Properly store ingredients, garnishes, and supplies in designated areas to maintain organization and ensure easy access during service. Clearly label all batches, mixes, and prepped items with dates and usage instructions for safety and efficiency.

    Team Collaboration: | Work closely with the entire bar team and management to ensure smooth service during peak times and high-volume shifts.

    Cash Handling & POS System: | Handle cash transactions, manage tips, and ensure accuracy in orders and payments.

    Inventory Management: | Assist with tracking and ordering bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, glassware, and garnishes by creating lists when items are low, and communicating those needs to the General Manager. Ensure that stock levels are maintained and help with stock rotation to minimize waste.

    Customer Feedback & Reporting: | Record and report customer feedback, both positive and negative, to improve the guest experience. Help implement any operational changes based on feedback.

    Creating and Updating Checklists: | You will assist in creating and maintaining daily and weekly checklists that outline essential tasks for bar staff. These checklists will include opening and closing procedures, inventory checks, and monitoring the overall operation of the bar. Regular updates will be made to reflect any changes in procedures or special events.

    Cleaning Duties: | Ensuring a clean and safe working environment is a top priority. You will help establish and follow cleaning protocols, including regular cleaning of the bar area, glassware, and equipment. You will be involved in overseeing that cleaning tasks are completed on time and that all equipment is sanitized properly according to health and safety standards. Additionally, you will assist with deep cleaning and organizing storage spaces on a weekly basis.

    Preparing and Managing Prep Lists: | You will help create and organize prep lists for the bar, including batching ingredients, preparing garnishes, and setting up bar tools. This ensures that the team has everything needed for service, minimizing delays and maintaining consistency. You'll collaborate with the team to ensure that all necessary items are prepped in advance and stock levels are accurately recorded.
