Position Overview We are looking for a skilled, experienced Audio/Video/Control/Lighting/Shading Systems Technician to join our high-end residential and commercial AV technology team. This role focuses on installation, programming, and servicing integrated systems that enhance luxury residential and select commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in AV systems, lighting, shading, and control systems with a history of strong customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities: Installation, programming, and servicing integrated systems
Complete complex audio/video installs, setup, and calibration
Pre-wire, trim, install, and program integrated systems as needed.
Provide support and service of new and existing systems.
Assist with other needs as required.
Control system (control/lighting/shading) and immersive AV installation
Satellite/Cable systems setup and install
Advanced troubleshooting of simple and complex systems
Advanced networking/data system design, installation, and setup
Complete programming of advanced systems (Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Josh.ai, and others)
Client & Team Collaboration
Excellent communication skills required
Work directly with clients, architects, interior designers, and builders to compete the installation, programming, and servicing of projects.
Collaborate closely with the others on the CTL team to complete projects and support clients.
Participate in project meetings to discuss changes, timelines, and any necessary adjustments to achieve optimal outcomes.
Product Knowledge & Expertise
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and product advancements within audio, video, control systems, lighting, and shading solutions.
Maintain proficiency with top brands and technologies, such as Control4, Lutron, Crestron, Vantage, Josh.ai, and other brands to allow for installing, supporting, programming, and recommending for projects.
Complete continuing training as assigned
Documentation & Technical Support
Interoperate comprehensive design documentation, including system schematics, rack elevations, and cable schedules, for efficient installation and integration.
Redline and create "As-Builts" of documentation to allow for accurate project documentation.
Provide ongoing technical support to clients during a project installation and after project completion.
Conduct system checks and ensure that all components are functioning seamlessly before project sign-off
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 3 years experience in the residential AV installation industry
Proven experience in system design for audio, video, lighting, shading, and control systems, preferably in luxury residential projects.
General knowledge of construction
Strong understanding of system integration principles, structured wiring, and networking fundamentals.
Experience with MS Office suite of products
Experience with Adobe suite of products a plus
Experience with D-Tools suite of products a plus
Experience in design and drafting software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar a plus.
Knowledge of leading automation and control systems like Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Josh.ai, and similar technologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both clients and internal teams.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects effectively.
A high degree of professionalism and the ability to represent the company in high-end settings.
Experience with Ubiquity Unifi Network platform and products
Familiarity with AV manufacture including Wisdom Audio, Meridian, Audio Control, AVPro Edge, Anthem, Storm, Barco, Sony, Samsung, LEA, Sonance, James, Origin, Ambisonic, Sonus Faber, Bluesound, Marantz, NAD, Harmon Pro, and other audio video brands including the setup and use is a must.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven
Ability to work on rotating “on-call” service schedule
Proficient in all Senior level qualifications
Excellent Problem Solving Skills
Assist in training and evaluation of up to Senior level technicians
Excellent skills with desktop and mobile computing
Clean driving record and background check
