    Job Title: Infant Teacher - Preschool

    Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our preschool team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with a focus on nurturing and providing quality care for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. The Infant Teacher will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment to support the growth and well-being of our youngest learners.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Child Care and Supervision:
    • Provide attentive and nurturing care to infants in the classroom.
    • Maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed.
    • Supervise and monitor infants during naptime, playtime, feeding, and diapering.
    • Comfort and soothe infants as needed, responding to their individual needs.
    1. Curriculum and Activities:
    • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote infant development in areas such as language, motor skills, and social-emotional growth.
    • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
    • Foster language development through reading, singing, and talking to infants.
    • Introduce sensory experiences, such as art, music, and sensory play.
    1. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open and regular communication with parents, sharing information about their child's daily activities and milestones.
    • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a seamless transition for infants as they progress to the next age group.
    • Attend staff meetings and engage in professional development opportunities.
    1. Health and Hygiene:
    • Follow proper hygiene and sanitation protocols, including handwashing and diaper changing.
    • Monitor and document each infant's feeding, diapering, and nap schedule.
    • Ensure that infants' individual dietary and medical needs are met.
    1. Assessment and Record-Keeping:
    • Conduct developmental assessments and maintain records of infant progress.
    • Share assessment results and observations with parents during parent-teacher conferences.

    Qualifications: *Have successfully completed 6 semester hours or 90 clock hours or their equivalent of approved preservice training, or hold the Child Development Associate Credential issued by the Child Development Associate National Credentialing Program;

    • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
    • Previous experience working with infants in a preschool or childcare setting is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of infant development, safety guidelines, and best practices in infant care.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with infants and their parents.
    • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with infants.

    Working Conditions:

    • This position typically operates in an indoor preschool classroom environment.
    • May involve lifting and carrying infants, as well as performing activities on the floor.
    • Regular exposure to childhood illnesses and germs is possible.
