Our lead teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment. Teachers work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.
Educational Qualifications
A CDA or
Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in-person courses in Early Childhood Education within a Year of Employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!) or
1 year of experience in a Licensed Early Childhood Center and 30 semester hours in any field with 6 hours directly related to childcare or
A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood education or related field.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities A Lead Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
Plan and implement activities that develop children’s self-esteem, social skills
Respect cultural and ethnic diversity
Establish positive and effective family relations
Maintain a portfolio for each child
Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress)
Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences, and professional growth opportunities
