PRIMARY FUNCTION
Hart to Heart Transportation is immediately seeking a Lead Technician/Mechanic to oversee the shop at our fleet maintenance facility servicing the paratransit market in Philadelphia. The Lead Technician will work on paratransit buses and other vehicles. They will be responsible for the mechanical integrity and operation of the assigned fleet, as well as the performance of the technicians assigned to them.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Accurately diagnose and make necessary repairs to all vehicles in the fleet including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical and drivability concerns.
· Identify problems utilizing computerized diagnostic equipment.
· Perform inspections, diagnosis, maintenance, and repairs adhering to client standards, manufacturer’s specifications, and company policy.
· Communicate and explain technical aspects of repairs and issues to clients when requested by the Maintenance Manager.
· Document automotive problems and repairs for clients and internal records.
· Order parts and tracking inventory.
· Oversee the operation of the maintenance shop and technicians.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid Class C driver’s license for 3+ years with safe driving record
· At least 21 years of age
· Minimum 5 years automotive repair work experience (Fleet experience is a plus.)
· ASE Master Technician Certification (Individuals certified in ASE tests A1 through A8 are recognized as ASE-Certified Master Automobile Technicians.) – Required
· Mobile Vehicle Air Conditioning MACS 609 certification – Recommended
· PA State Inspection License – Recommended
· Complete set of automotive tools
· Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Applicant must be able to pass:
o A pre-hire and random drug and alcohol testing
o DOT physical
o Criminal background check
· Applicant must possess the following abilities:
o Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
o Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records
o Ability to use diagnostic equipment including various types of technology
o Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
o Ability to maintain a professional appearance and work area
o Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner and provide excellent client service
