This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

    Job Description

    • Ensure work assignments are distributed and performed in a timely manner by employees.
    • Review police reports, patrol reports and ongoing investigations to ensure complete, concise and factual information reporting.
    • Initial point of contact for all in person or telephone communications with the public concerning law enforcement matters which occur on an assigned shift.
    • Conduct preliminary investigations in accordance with assimilated state laws, Federal statutes, and fish and games laws on the installation while holding full jurisdictional authority.
    • Respond to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.

    Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service 1) conducting Police Operation functions; utilizing knowledge of law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques to determine applicable charges and violations; 2) issuing citations; obtaining and protecting evidence; 3) interviewing witnesses and/or conduct preliminary investigations on criminal cases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Investigation of Fitness:A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate's honesty, integrity, general character, and loyalty to the U.S. Government. Such investigations will be conducted under the security requirements of the hiring agency. Medical Requirements:The duties of these positions require moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants: good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors, and ability to hear the conversational voice.
