    White Pine Childcare is a locally-owned licensed childcare center that provides loving care to infants, toddlers and preschoolers. As we continue to expand enrollment at center, we are searching for amazing teachers to join our cohesive family of teachers and aides! Currently we are interviewing qualified LEAD TEACHER candidates that have experience working with infants, toddlers or preschoolers in a licensed setting and have a PASSION for providing care for our littlest friends.     RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Owner and Director of Childcare Supervises: Assistant Teachers, Student Workers, Student Teachers, Teacher Aides, Volunteers

    INTERFACES WITH: Staff, Enrolled Children, Families, Community-at-Large

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree, Pre-kindergarten Teaching License or CDA certificate preferred

    RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but are not limited to): 40 hours weekly Passes Background Study and Fingerprinting Maintains pre-kindergarten licensure or other credential requirements Follows child care regulations as presented in Department of Human Services, Statute 9503 (Rule 3) Documents and reports suspected cases of child abuse to Child Protection Completes required in-service training each year Completes first-aid/CPR training every two (2) years Directly supervises the toddler program Supervises Assistant Teacher, Aides, and Volunteers in the toddler room Supervises practicum/student teachers as assigned Coordinates the schedules with staff in the room when a substitute is used Sees that the daily needs of the child are met Completes the Daily Report for each child (Toddler and Infants) Supervises the food records (Toddlers and Infants) Meets weekly with teaching team to discuss management of classroom Plans and implements curriculum along with teaching team Maintains learning areas as specified in DHS Rule 3: Large muscle, Art and music, Dramatic play, Reading area, Science, Manipulatives, Block area, Water and/or sand area Plans and posts weekly lesson plans Maintains bulletin boards in the toddler classroom Works with consultants for the development or improvement of the center Maintains daily attendance records Communicates with parents informally through verbal communication, telephone, and /or email Informs parents when children are ill or injured Completes accident reports when necessary Maintains individual child’s assessment and portfolio documentation Participates in two (2) parent conferences annually Works in collaboration with other center staff Maintains general cleaning of their classroom, equipment and materials and shares overall center cleaning responsibilities with all center staff Participates in staff curriculum planning when appropriate Participates in staff meetings Conducts daily safety check of their room and playground Any other duties as assigned by Director Informs Director of any safety concerns or supply needs

    Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds with or without help Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to bend, squat Must be able to sit on the floor comfortably

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

    Education/Certification: High school or equivalent Qualified as Lead Teacher per MN DHS Rule 3 CPR and First Aid Certification
