Job Summary
The Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator will effectively supervise, guide and coach program staff, curriculum development with staff, program licensing compliance, and ensure the Health and Safety of the children in the program. The Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator will have respectful, open and authentic communication with the families and the partnership school staff where their program is located.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator will provide direct supervision to the following positions:
Teachers
Teacher Assistants
Volunteers
Program Partnerships
The Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator will ensure:
Effective time management of all direct reports
Review and approve all timesheets and requests for time off
Provide regular supervision through individual meetings with direct reports on a weekly basis
Provide direct reports with ongoing feedback on progress as well as any performance concerns
Perform an annual written performance review with each direct report
Participate in the hiring and training of staff as necessary
Duties/Responsibilities
Plan and execute enrichment and academic programs to meet the needs of the students
Manages all site operations ensuring compliance in all related areas including the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) licensing procedures
Builds relationships with and among families and members to encourage their interest and involvement in the program.
Proactive communication with families to minimize concerns as best as possible
Assumes full responsibility of the program site.
Responds to inquiries and solves problems in a timely manner
Responsible for fulfilling enrollment goals
Ensure the program environment, facilities and equipment for children are safe, clean, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive
Coordinates developmentally appropriate curriculum schedules and maintains MA EEC regulations
Monitors and observes the daily operation of the classroom for safety, positive interaction and productive educational activity
Oversees performance of classroom teachers and assistants; performs and prepares the employee performance evaluations on an annual basis
Addresses, monitors and documents issues, concerns and problems that may arise with students
Develops and maintains a positive and confidential relationship with the parents of every child, including thorough communication about the program and each child’s progress
Supports teachers in completing children’s evaluations
Ensure all childrens and staff files are updated based on EEC regulations
Orientates new employees using the classroom orientation packet to review policies, procedures and organization-wide rules and regulations
Responsible for communicating with classroom teachers and school administration to ensure successful partnership.
Conducting monthly quality observations and checklists on classrooms and teachers to ensure the program is meeting the standards of the state and organization.
Participates in required training programs, conferences, courses or other aspects of professional growth
Plans and Attends staff meetings as required
Willing to jump in and performs teacher responsibilities if needed
Support with lunch/recess duties and school support if needed
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred
EEC Lead Teacher Certification required
At least 2-3 years of supervision and management experience in industry
Experience with Preschool and School Age Children from 2.9-13 Years old
