    Justice Action Center (JAC) is a startup social justice organization that combines the power of storytelling with impact litigation to advance immigrant justice. We focus on fulfilling unmet needs historically overlooked in the nonprofit immigration space through creative communications and legal strategies that center the needs and experiences of our plaintiffs.     As our organization has grown, we are now seeking a Leadership Assistant that will provide administrative support for the leadership team and board of directors. Duties will include providing support to our executive team, department directors, and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing the organization’s general administrative activities. Most of the work requires a high degree of autonomy, without prescribed procedures, and with delegated authority to exercise discretion and judgment, especially in communication with stakeholders, many objectives, priorities and demands are typical of this role.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Scheduling meetings and coordinating travel arrangements and in-person events

    Accounting tasks such as paying invoices, managing credit card accounts and employee reimbursements

    Draft documents such as memos, emails, and MOUs to support the organization

    Order supplies and equipment as needed for staff

    Check the Los Angeles, California JAC P.O. Box and follow up on mail as needed

    Support the board of JAC with scheduling, note-taking, and board governance

    Provide administrative support to the leadership team as needed

    Oversee the planning and logistics to the annual JAC staff retreat and board meetings

    Perform other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED is required

    At least 5 years of relevant administrative experience

    Demonstrated high-level administrative experience supporting executive level individuals

    Experience in a law firm is a plus

    Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus but not required

    Skills Needed

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Superb organizational skills and attention to detail

    Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care

    Perform duties with a high level of professionalism, flexibility, discretion, judgment, diplomacy, and tact

    Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with scheduling

    Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines Comfort working remotely with diverse coalitions in a fast-paced environment

    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    95% remote position, must check the P.O. Box weekly located in Los Angeles, CA

    Must reside and work Los Angeles County, CA

    Occasional out-of-state travel required
