The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement and implementing lean manufacturing principles across production operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and optimize resources. The Lean Manufacturing Manager ensures that lean strategies are aligned with overall business objectives and fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
**This is an in person role in Vista, CA
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead Kaizen events and other process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, etc.) to identify opportunities for improvement and solve operational challenges.
- Train and mentor staff at all levels on lean principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of lean initiatives.
- Standardize processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent application of lean practices.
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and provide ongoing support for lean projects.
- Coordinate with management to align lean strategies with business goals and production targets.
- Implement visual management systems and other lean tools to enhance process transparency.
- Drive cultural change to create an environment focused on quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in lean manufacturing or process improvement roles.
- Strong knowledge of lean tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with data analysis and performance metrics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for leading teams and training employees.
Compensation: $100,000-135,000 plus benefits
